Description

Legionella BCYE Agar Base is a medium that is used for the legionella colonies confirmation test. The medium does not contain L-cysteine growth supplement, essential for legionella growth. Isolated colonies in the BCYE Agar medium must be confirmed. Microorganisms that grow on BCYE Agar, however not in CYE Agar, can be considered, as alleged legions, to be confirmed by biochemical and serological methods.

Adding the supplement BCYE Growth Supplement (76.146) to CYE Agar Base gives as a result the BCYE Agar. 

Adding the supplements BCYE Growth Supplement (76.146) + Legionella GVPC Selective Supplement (76.506) to CYE Agar Base gives as a result the GVPC Agar.

Adding the supplements BCYE Growth Supplement (76.146) + Legionella MWY Selective Supplement (76.024) to CYE Agar Base gives as a result the MWY Agar.
