Description

Gelatin Peptone is a peptone obtained by digestion of pancreatic gelatin. It is characterized by a low content in carbohydrates and amino acids such as cystine and tryptophan.

The powder is dissolved in distilled water giving a clear solution, which retains this characteristic even after sterilization in an autoclave.

Gelatin Peptone can be used as an ingredient in the constitution of media where it is necessary a high degree of transparency, such as Brain Heart Infusion Broth.
