TODD-HEWITT BROTH is used for the cultivation of ß-emolytics Streptococci, other fastidious microorganisms and to highlight streptolysin production (Streptococci group A). Todd-Hewitt broth is formulated according to the formula described by Updyke and Nickleis, it is a highly nutrient broth due to the presence of peptones, dextrose and salts.
