Description
Simmons Citrate Agar is a highly selective medium used for the differentiation of Gram-negative bacteria on the basis of citrate utilization (ISTISAN R. 96/35).
The medium is particularly suitable for differentiating the positive citrate salmonella (S. enteritidis and salmonella of the subgenres II, III, IV) from the negative citrate salmonella (S. typhi, S. paratyphi, S. pullorum, S. gallinarum).
