Description
Saboraud Dextrose Agar + CAF is a medium recommended for the isolation of oportunistic pathogenic fungi, Candida, Aspergillus, Fusarium, Mucor from clinical specimens (urine, bronchial aspirations, sputum, bronchial wash) particularly contaminated by mixed flora.
It can be prepared with two types of assays of Chloramphenicol:
- Sabouraud Dextrose Agar + CAF 50 mg (70.150)
- Sabouraud Dextrose Agar + CAF 500 mg (70.268)
The medium is suitable as well as for clinical specimens, also for environmental and food samples particularly contaminated by mixed flora, used in association with SABOURAUD DEXTROSE AGAR (Cod. 70.145 ) in accordance with ANFOR (V08_059) and ISO 7954.
