Plate Count Agar is a medium recommended by APHA, AOAC, ICMSF, UNI EN ISO 4833, Rapporti ISTISAN 96/35 for the total count of bacteria at 30°C in food and by APHA and APAT CNR IRSA Man 29/2003 for the counting of mesophilic and psycrophilic bacteria in waters.
