Description
M.R.S. AGAR (According to MAN, ROGOSA and SHARPE) is a selective medium used for the isolation and cultivation of Lactobacillus sp. from clinical samples, food and dairy products, in accordance with ISO/FDIS 15214 standard. In addition, the medium allows the development of those Lactobacilli difficult to cultivate in other culture media. Lactobacilli are characterized by small, opaque and white colonies. The medium is superior than the tomato jus and allows the growth of all lactobacilli including those with difficult growth (L. brevis and L. fermenti).
