Description

Middlebrook 7H10 Agar, complete of supplement, is a medium recommended for the isolation, cultivation and sensitivity test of mycobacteria, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The use of clear agarized medium instead of egg-based ones allows a more accurate evaluation of the morphological characteristics of the colonies even during microscopic observation. In addition, in the sensitivity test, the agarized medium avoids the binding of drugs with the large organic molecules present in the classical media for the isolation of mycobacteria.

Must be added to the medium the selective supplement Middlebrook OADC Selective Supplement (Cod. 76.130).
