Description
Malt Extract Agar is used for the isolation and enumeration of yeasts and molds from different materials, such as food or pharmaceutical products. It is a carbohydrate-rich medium that has the nutritional regressions needed to develop yeast-like and filamentous yeast. The selectivity of this medium is determined by the low pH value, as it inhibits most of the contaminating bacterial flora.
