Description

Listeria Oxford Agar Base is a selective medium for the isolation of Listeria from food, clinical and environmental specimens after appropriate enrichment broth culture (Broth Half Concentration or Fraser Broth). The formulation is in accordance with the indicated requirements, for the determination of Listeria monocytogenes by FIL-IDF (milk and diary products) and UNI EN ISO 11290_1 (food and feed).

The Listeria species listed in the 8th edition of the Bergey's Manual are 4: Listeria denitrificans, Listeria grayi, Listeria murray e Listeria monocytogenes. The first three are non-haemolytic without any significance in human disease, while Listeria monocytogenes, which is frequently isolated, is of great clinical significance.

Must be added to the medium 1 vial of Listeria Oxford Selective Supplement (Cod. 76.326)
