Description

Ethyl Violet Azide Broth is a highly selective medium for the isolation, cultivation and enumeration of Enterococci like faecal contamination index in waters, according to 7040 TO APAT CNR IRSA /ARPAT 2005 methods. The selectivity of this medium is due to the presence of sodium azide and ethyl violet that inhibit all the Gram positive and negatives microorganisms with the exception of Enterococci.

The Italian Norm, demands, for the confirmation of faecal Streptococci in waters (discharge or bathing minerals), the test in parallel with Azide dextrose broth.
