Description

EC Medium is a medium prepared according to the formula of Hajna and Perry, for the cultivation and differentiation of Coliforms and E.coli. The medium is reported by APHA in the "Standard Methods for the examination of water and wastewater" for the detection of faecal coliforms in waters by the MPN method. The presence of MUG allows to identify direct fluorescence of E.coli, under UV-A light.
