Description

EC Broth is a medium prepared according to the formula of Hajna and Perry, for the cultivation and differentiation of Coliforms and E.coli in food and water.

The formulation of the medium is in agreement with several methods, reported by APHA in the "Standard Methods" and by APAT CNR IRSA Man 29/2003_ Met. 7020 for the confirmatory test for fecal coliforms in water (surface water, river, lake or wastewater undergoing treatment) by the MPN method.

The EC Broth, in accordance with ISO 7251:2005 standard, is a selective medium for the presumptive identification and the enumeration of E.coli in food products, milk and molluscs.
