Description

MODIFIED SCHOLTENS' AGAR (MSA), formulated in accordance with ISO 10705-2:2000, is indicated for the research of anti-Escherichia coli somatic bacteriophages in water analysis.

For samples with low bacterial content (drinking water, unpolluted natural waters), use Escherichia coli ATCC 13706. For samples with high bacterial content (polluted natural waters, wastewater) use the nalidixic acid-resistant mutant strain E. coli CN ATCC 700078. To prepare the reference material, use bacteriophage ΦX174 (ATCC 13706-B1).
