Description

MUELLER HINTON BROTH ISO 20776 supplemented with Ca++ and Mg++ ion cations is used for the quantitative sensitivity tests of gram–negative and gram–positive bacteria for various antimicrobial agents by determining the MIC (Minimum Inhibiting Concentration) with the microdilution method. The concentrations of Ca++ and Mg++ ions added to the medium are obtained according to the indications given by EUCAST and ISO 20776-1 methods.

MUELLER HINTON BROTH ISO 20776 (CATION ADJUSTED) CAMHB: the concentrations of Ca and Mg ions added to the medium are obtained according to the indications reported by the NCCLS M7 methods (App B). The concentration of Calcium (20,7 mg/l) and Magnesium (8,7 mg/l) were calculated by deducting the respective concentrations of Ca++ and Mg++ normally present in Muller Hinton Broth (Appendix B 3.1)

Adjust the turbidity to be equivalent to McFarland 0,5 Turbidity Standard (Cod. 180.226) (link)
