Description

COLUMBIA AGAR BASE is a highly nutritious medium used for the isolation and cultivation of fastidious pathogens extracted from material of clinic and non-clinic origin. The medium can be used for the cultivation of non-fastidious microorganisms, such as: Enterobacter, Brucella, Clostridium perfringens o Yersinia pestis.

COLUMBIA AGAR BASE + 5% SANGUE is used for the search and isolation of Erysipelothrix, Listeria, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Pneumococcus. The medium allows species differentiation based on the type of hemolysis. The medium is also indicated for the isolation of Campylobacter pure colonies to be tested with confirmation tests (ISO 10272).
