Description

Double Modified Lysine Iron Agar (DMLIA) allows the differentiation of Enterobacteriaceae (especially Salmonella) on the basis of their ability to decarboxylate lysine and form hydrogen sulfide (H2S). The medium is formulated in accordance with the FSIS/USDA method (SOP MGL 4), for the isolation and differentiation of Salmonella species from different food matrices (Meat, Poultry and Catfish Products). The medium is also indicated for the research and isolation of Salmonella from environmental samples with meat surfaces (sponge method).
