Description

M.R.S. AGAR with Tween 80 (pH 5.7), formulated according to Man, Rogosa and Sharpe, is a selective medium used for the isolation and cultivation of lactobacillus spp. from clinical specimens. The medium, with a pH of 5.7, is particularly suitable for the research of mesophilic lactic acid bacteria in dairy products. This medium also allows for the development of those difficult lactobacilli (L. brevis and L. enzymes) to grow in other culture media. Lactobacilli are characterized by small colonies, opaque and white.
