Description

SABOURAUD DEXTROSE BROTH WITH CHLORAMPHENICOL is a medium suitable for the isolation of opportunistic pathogens fungi, such as Aspergillus, Fusarium and Mucor from clinical samples highly contaminated by mixed microbial flora such as urine, aspirates bronchial, sputum, bronchial washing. Furthermore, it is also used for the isolation of pathogenic fungi that are sensitive to cycloheximide such as Criptococcus Neoformans.

This medium is extremely selective both for the low value of pH (5.6), and for the presence of chloramphenicol.
