Description
SODIUM ACETATE AGAR is a medium indicated by ISO 21567 standard for the differentiation of the Shigella species from E. coli and other gram negative bacteria. The medium formulation, developed by Ewing et al., replaces the sodium citrate normally used, with sodium acetate as the sole carbon source, particularly suitable for the differentiation between Shigella spp.
