Description

Brucella Broth is a nutrient medium suitable for all slow-growing and demanding organisms, how species Brucella. Brucella is an intracellular parasite that causes epizootic abortions in animals and speticemic or localized infections in human bones.

Brucella Broth Base + Horse Serum cod. 21.0137 is used for the enrichment in research and culture of Brucella spp.

Brucella Broth Base + Brucella Selective Supplement Mod. cod. 76.311 is used for the selective isolation of Brucella spp. 

Since Brucella grow slowly, crops should be kept at least three weeks before considering them negative. The basic medium, suitably enriched, can also be used for the selective isolation of Campylobacter. The formulation of the medium is in accordance with the UNI EN ISO 10272-1/2:2006 that indicate the use of Brucella broth for some of the confirmation tests of the Campylobacter spp.
