Description
Agar test pH 7.2 is recommended for the analysis of residues of antimicrobial components in meat and organs samples, using bacillus subtilis (ATCC 6633) as a susceptible test organism, in the spreading agar procedure and / or for the EEC procedure (four plate test).
The formulation of the Agar Test pH 7.2 complying with EEC requirements, where the peptone provides carbon, nitrogen and the growth factors necessary for the development of organisms, while sodium chloride maintains the osmotic balance of the medium. Trisodium phosphate performs buffer activity. The formulation is supplemented by trimethoprim (50 µg) to increase test susceptibility for sulfonamide residues.
