Description

MUELLER HINTON Agar Chocolate is a very rich nutrient medium, recommended for the cultivation of fastidious bacteria (Neisseriae spp. and Streptococci) from clinical specimens (abscesses – cerebrospinal fluid) or blood cultures (Haemophilus influenzae).

The medium is not selective, so if suspect the presence of commensal flora inoculate the specimens in appropriate selective medium and use Mueller Hinton Agar Chocolate for the pure colony culture stage.
