Description

CARBAENTEROCHROM AGAR is a selective medium recommended for the presumptive identification of enterobacteriaceae, which exhibit resistance to carbapenems. The medium is particularly suitable for the screening test, does not require pre-enrichment and allows the direct sowing of the sample on the surface of the medium.

The medium allows a rapid visual differentiation of the genres that occur with greater frequency resistance to carbapenems (meropenem, imipenem, ertapenem, etc.), therefore E. coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
