Description
Enterobacter Sakazakii Chromogenic Medium is a chromogenic medium for the detection of Enterobacter sakazakii (formerly E. sakazakii) in milk and foods as described in ISO TS/22964:2006 standards.
Enterobacter sakazakii is currently considered an emerging pathogen responsible for sepsis, meningitis and necrotizing enterocolitis in infants, with a mortality rate of between 40-80%. This has required the monitoring of the presence of Enterobacter sakazakii in food for babies and infants.
