MAC CONKEY without LACTOSE


Description

Mac Conkey standard formulation without the addition of lactose. Basic medium used for the production of RMAC and CT-RMAC media under the EN/ISO 13136:2012 standard for isolation and identification of E.coli (STEC O26) from clinical and food samples.

R-MAC AGAR , in accordance with EN/ISO 13136:2013 standard, is formulated with a basic MacConkey agar in which lactose has been replaced by rhamnio. Moderately selective and differential medium for the isolation of Escherichia coli (STEC) , serotype O26, Shigar toxin producers belonging to the non-O157 (non-fermentative Rhamnose).

Any addition of potassium tellurite and Cefixime supplement (CT-RMAC) makes the medium selectable for Proteus and non-STEC strains, without limiting the growth of E.coli STEC O26, which will grow with colorless colonies.

The medium CT-RMAC is particularly suitable for the research of E.coli STEC O26 in stool samples.
