Description
Cetrimide Agar is a selective medium for the isolation and identification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Based on the formulation devised by King et al. with the addition of cetrimide for the selective inhibition of different microorganisms from P.aeruginosa and to stimulate the secretion of pyocyanin.
The medium is used for the isolation of P.aeruginosa both in clinical and in pharmaceutical industry and its use in microbial limit testing is required by US and European Pharmacopoeia.
