Description

Peptone Mix is a product consisting of a mixture of peptones derived from the pancreatic digested casein and digestion peptic of animal tissue, which give to the product a perfect balance between proteins and vitamins.

It contains a wide variety of nitrogenous compounds including free amino acids and polypeptides of different molecular weight. The powder is added with distilled water, giving a transparent solution which remains clear even after autoclaving. The high nutritional value helps the luxuriant growth of a wide variety of microorganisms.

It is used as an ingredient in media for general use, for routine analysis or for the growth of difficult microorganisms, for example, for the preparation of dextrose agar.
